The Chairman, OEWA Management Committee,
I would like to say thank you to the Oshwal Elderly Welfare Association, which has helped me to brighten my life in retirement.
I became a member some four years back, since then I have attended the Diabetic seminars held by the association and at these meetings I met many other elderly people who are diabetic like my self.
The guest speakers are a pleasure to listen to and they have provided in depth information. Later on we have chance to have forum and open discussions.
I have been on four holidays with the association, which were fantastic. The greatest satisfaction were how the association leader took care of the elderly, provided the right kind of diet for the diabetic as well other vegan people, and generally made the holidays a joy to be on, without any worries.
I have made many friends since I joined the association, and I always look forward to our bimonthly lunch get to gather where I have the opportunity to rekindle the friendship.
Thank You Again. Please carry on with the good work. Without your association the elderly would be lonely and in sufferance within the confine of their homes.

Just a few lines to show my appreciation for the work carried out by the OEWA. I arrived in UK at a very young age in late fifties. Having achieved my formal qualifications, I lived in remote parts of midlands for past fifty years and consequently missed out on the Asian way of life. I joined the association with the view to meet people of my age, and re-establish the lost background to our Asian culture. The holidays and the get to gather helps me to refocus on the what the Indian culture is all about. Of course I have made many friends, and it is a pleasure to sit with them and discuss my western thinking with those of the Indian Gujarati philosophy. The association does very well in arranging the Lunches, followed by the cultural shows, & Asian live music.
I am fortunate that I do not suffer from any medical conditions, other then the old age! However I understand from other very grateful members, how the association arranges the frequent Cancer, & Diabetic, forums, which the members find very useful.
I hope the association would get extra funding from where ever and keep up with the good work.
