Between 30 and 40 volunteers support our projects. We are constantly looking for new skilled people to fulfil these roles. If you have time to spare please contact us.

Volunteers are considered to be Oshwal Elderly Welfare Association’s most valuable resource and it is our policy to ensure an on-going mutual relationship between the organisation and those who volunteer. Volunteers do not just add spice to our organisational mix, they are the main ingredient!

We are committed to involving and encouraging volunteers to be creative and innovative partners in our service delivery, so as to enrich the quality of services and the lives of those involved…both as givers and receivers of services…and to develop mutual understanding and a true sense of community.

Volunteers will be given the opportunity to be involved in the two way process, which benefits both the volunteers and our organisation. We can offer wide variety and choice of role and our Volunteer co-ordinator will arrange an interview with you to discuss in detail the openings that are currently available, and for you to find out more about the specific work involved before committing yourself.

No one is ever rushed into making hasty decisions and sufficient time will be given for you to ask as many questions as you wish. Spending time with you on an individual basis will help ensure you choose work, which is best, suited to you.

We provide full support, regular supervision, and reviews where volunteers can express their ideas, thoughts, and feelings and identify any training needs they may have. We also organise social events so that volunteers can build friendship with other volunteers they may not necessarily meet during time with us.
